About the Artist

Meet George Wolberg

Professor George Wolberg is an internationally acclaimed engineer and inventor who has spent his entire career bridging the gap between art and technology.

George’s creation of Pintillism is the culmination of his love of art, design, engineering and fabrication.

Born in Buenos Aires, George moved to New York where he earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cooper Union, and a PhD in Computer Science at Columbia University for his ground-breaking work in Digital Image Warping.

As an authority in his field, George teaches at the City College of New York, has published a seminal book and numerous journal publications on the subject, pioneered image morphing, and has a number of other inventions to his name.

George lives in New York with his family where he creates all his Pintillism artwork from his studio. He is also an avid piano player and loves the arts and problem solving.
